Strange, I had the same thing happen to me today. There was a booth at a Beer Festival where there was a signup for a free vacation. I don't remember the name of the company who had the booth, but of course I filled out the form because who doesn't want a free vacation? I got a call today from Matthew O'Connor from DREAM TRAVEL VACATIONS, not TROPICAL UNIVERSE or WE TOUR AMERICA. I'm usually skeptical and don't fall for these things, but I really did fill out a form for a free vacation, and they read me back all of the information I wrote on the form. I finally agreed and gave them my card number for $498, which they couldn't really explain what it was for. One said a registration fee, the other said it was 'gift tax' which now I realize makes no sense… why would I pay this company the taxes for it? Wouldn't I pay that to the IRS when I file? It just happened so fast. I still haven't gotten a charge on my credit card but I'm waiting for it. I was given the name Jason White as the supervisor's name if I need to contact him, so I know this is the same company. But why would they be calling people under all of these different company names? I tried googling "Dream Travel Vacations" but got nothing, which now I know why because they're probably not real! The website they gave me was "orlandomagicvacations.com". I'm a web developer and I have to say this is a poorly designed website. Its either because they're not real and some joe schmoe made the website, or they're not a very big profitable company. I don't know how a company with this crummy of a website could afford to hand out $4000 vacations to 4-5 star resorts. And by the way, the pictures on the website look nothing like 4-5 star resorts.
