When I called back it said the # was disconnected or no longer in service. How did someone just call from it then if this is true?

This number from FL has called me for 2 days now, 10-20 times in a row. I call it back and it is disconnected and no longer in service. I have also blocked this number.

They've calling between 9:00 to 10:00 AM every day... I don't answer it anymore

received multiple calls over the past two days, called back to see if important and # was reported as disconnected. I am concerned it may be some time of scam or phishing expedition. Blocking the number does not stop the calls. Very annoying.
