Just happened to me!  Caller claimed he was a paramedic at Florida Hospital and he was with a man that lost a lot of blood.  I was listed as the emergency contact and I asked who it was, he said he didn't know but he was driving a 2014 Nissan Altima.  I told him I didn't know anyone with that type car!

Just got a call from this number saying he was paramedic with FL Hospital and man was in an accident and they found my cell number as emergency contact .  I told him I heard about this scam and hung up.  I don't have any male relative here; also, doesn't everyone's phone have the name associated with the phone number?  He is asking me who I am .........

The person said he was an EMT and there had been an accident.  They couldn't find the ladies identification but said her phone had me as the emergency contact.  They said she was unconscious and in critical condition bleeding profusely. They asked if I had any females in the family.  I gave them my wife and daughters name and described them.  They asked what type of car she would be driving and told them.  They then said it was my wife.  Then another man got on the phone and said my wife and hit a 16 yr. old on a motorcycle and he was his father.  He said he had pistol whipped her in the head and they had her at an apartment.  At this point I realized it was a scam and hung up.
