Pretty much is a piss-poor, sloppy con artist trying to scam you out of your money. If you've got call-blocking, nuke this one from orbit.
A "David Goldman" claiming to be with your state's "check fraud division" (Hint: They will not contact you by phone if you're guilty of that...they'll serve you or arrest you...seriously...) claiming to be investigating a problem about one of your loved ones or even yourself. In our case, they're calling about a "recent" (as in less than three years old...) check written by my girlfriends ***INVALID*** mother (As in bed-ridden, needs assistance for EVERYTHING as a result of a stroke that happened some 5-6 years ago...).
Idiot uses "legal" sounding terms and is all but rambling on the voice mail messages. Not even close to believable except to the elderly.
