He said he was out of the country & would send his shipper to get the item.  You were to wire money  to the shipper after cashing his check.   Am I correct??

The check will bounce & you will be out of any money (he wanted the money wired by Western Union, didn't he??).

Take the check & envelope to your post office & give it to the postal inspector.  Do NOT cash the check!!!

You are absolutely right. Thank you. I will. Someone needs to catch this guy. How can he be caught. He is messing with innocent people, and people like that should be investigated. I will return the check as soon as I return it.

Should I be worried that he has my address now? I will never try to sell anything on Craigslist anymore. It's just not safe. Should I worry for the safety of my family. This is all so nerve wrecking.

The caller is probably out of the United States so there is nothing to worry about.

Take the check and envelope to the post office.  Do not return it to the sender!  You might get a nasty text from thebthief.  Just delete it.

I contacted the FBI about this same situation and the officer told me to go to www.IC3.gov and submit a report.  I did that a few days ago, but haven't heard anything...doubt I will.
