I've been getting a lot of calls on my home phone and cell phone from this number, 407-203-9550 and they don't leave a message. Caller ID says Unknown name. I called it back and they claim to be from Duke Energy Home Repair. Their phone answering systems says "Thanks for calling Duke Energy Home Repair" I waited and spoke to a very nice lady and she said they're calling about home wiring warranties and wanted to know if I was interested in purchasing one. They did know that I have a surge protector from Duke Energy so they may be legit. But, if not, they were trying to sell me something so regardless they're a telemarketer.. Also, I called my local Duke energy office and they didn't know that number or who it was.

407-203-9550....They call and hang up after listening to my voice mail greeting. I called hem and found out it is "Duke Energy Home Repair". (I didn't even know Duke Energy served the Orlando area, hah hah!) Simply telemarketers that haven't yet figured out that the days of telemarketing are pretty much over, as people are becoming more aware of the scam tactics. Also, around here, Duke is a 4 letter word, as they made us pay for a power plant ahead of time and then never even built it and we don't even use Duke Energy! Won't ever live where we have to either.
Even charities have a hard time using telemarketing to raise money, as you can check the FL gift givers guide and see that most of them use most of your donations for their payroll, not for their promulgated cause, some charities don't even know that companies raise money using the charities name! Remember when United Way got busted for spending 88% of their funds for payroll for the execs? Yet still, some employers require that you give out of your paycheck anyway. Can anyone say RICO?

Looking at the number and the remarks left here - why in the world would a legitimate company like Duke Energy not have the correct phone number and name of company showing up on caller id, instead of Orlando Florida, no area code - just 203-9550?  Duke Energy did purchase the prior electrical company in Orlando - so I know that they are legit - however ... again my question, why wouldn't they have correct information?  That said, there is a scam going on in the Orlando area of the power companies calling various restaurants and establishments saying that they are going to cut off electricity unless the bill is immediately paid - several business employees have fallen for this scam, only to be out of the money - so ... BEWARE - IT COULD BE A SCAM!  (PS - I did not call the number but relied on the posts here to figure out who it is.)  

I agree, why would a company like duke NOT have their name as a CID?
If it looks inappropriate, it probably is.
They also don't leave a message....

I didn't call 407-203-9550 back. I Google it and found other people are being harassed by this number.  I have the home wire insurance plan already.  If they weren't phony they would already know that.  When I moved and called Duke energy myself and had my power turned on any residents and talked to someone who actually worked for Duke energy.  This has to be a scam to get private information.
