I pressed "9" to speak to a consultant, and held for a couple of minutes before a human answered.  When he answered, he asked me if I was calling about lowering my credit card interest rate.  I immediately began by asking him to take our number off of their calling list, but he hung up on me, before I could complete my sentence.  I submitted a consumer complaint to the Idaho Attorney General's Office.

Got a call from 407-000-7887, I did not answer.  We are also on the Do Not Call List.

Every few weeks they call to give me the opportunity to lower my interest rates.  I give them what they want.  I have my little kit handy which includes 800 numbers for credit card customer service of a bank where i don't have a credit card.  I have a little table of random numbers so I card give a 16 digit number of "my account" starting with 4 for VISA or 5 for MasterCard.  I have the phone number of the FBI office, which is the number I will give them so they can call me back if we get disconnected, which they will be while they are trying unsuccessfully to verify the fake credit number.
For this particular call they did not ask for my name.  I have some fake names that I am ready to give them at a moment's notice.  Sometimes for variety I will give them the Attorney General's number.

This tactic usually stops the calls for a few weeks. Then I will run them through the same act.
