I got a phone call. A recording said it was my credit card company and I could qualify to lower my interest rate to 6.7%. It said I should press 9 to talk to a person who would help me. A real person DID come on the line and asked if a lowered interest rate would be beneficial.
Up to this point nothing had told me what credit card company they were, so I asked the girl who she was representing. She hung up fast.
It was a scam to get my credit card number.
Caller ID said the number was 407-000-4712 which looked phony to begin with. The caller was "Florida". I called the number back and it was a bogus number.
