This the number from "Card Member Services". They call me often with a recorded messaged from Heather or some such person telling me that they want to lower the interest rates on my credit cards.

Today I actually pressed 9 and waited to talk to someone. The person who finally came on said they were with Card Member Services and they want to work with me and my credit card companies to lower my APR. I spent about 45 minutes on the phone with the nice man and, sadly, gave him my cc number and expiration date - hopefully this will not lead to fraudulent charges to this card - I feel so stupid.

In the end, I hang up when I realized they wanted to record me agreeing to their requirements (including a $995 "membership fee" that would ONLY be charged to my account if their lowering my rates didn't lead to my paying off my cards 4 to 5 times faster than I was going to be able to do with the current rates). Um, yeah.

I can't believe I got so far into the whole thing - despite my gut telling me that this was the biggest scam ever and I should get OUT.

Now I"m going to call my cc company and let them know.

Do not answer calls from these people!

I get their calls, and when I ask who they are I find myself getting hung up on.  Whatever happened to the "DO NOT CALL REGISTRY"?

when you ask what company they are they hang up on you, i hope they get caught this is a scam.

They call everyday I'm at lunch, trying to sell me the same thing as above, I hate it.
