This is quite a scam, unfortunately my girlfriends daughter fell for it hook, line and sinker. I feel so bad for her. She put an ad on kijiji looking for part time work. She was contacted by text from this number 406-924-3157 telling her that they had work for her in her area. Now the scam, they are going to send her a cheque for $2,550 and when she gets it they want her to send them $2,000 back by email interact. Well as I said the poor girl fell for it and is now out the money. I traced the number which shows it down in Montana and it is still active. Have to see if the international fraud squad are able to do something with it. There seems to be a group involved as the envelope the money order came in was post marked in Toronto. I will gather everything that she has to see if there is anything that can be done to get these bas#####. As someone else has already said, " if it sounds to good to be true, it most likely isn't"
One other thing they use gmail for there emails, maybe we can get Google to help nail these scumbags.
