Someone form "Google Maps" supposedly called to verify my business address and the name of the company. His name was "Amad".

Caller said they were from Google Maps and wanting to verify info people see when they search for my business. I saw no harm or risks in their questions. They didn't ask anything personal and didn't ask about anything that wasn't already available on the web. I asked them what company name and what phone number they have on file--everything was correct so I was satisfied it really was a call on behalf of Google Maps and it wasn't a robo-dialler call which would not have that info. So I went ahead and confirmed my address and answered her question about whether I provide services locally or nationally. Good for me in terms of marketing and free.

They are NOT from Google, just do the following test, and probably they'll hang up on you :
- Listen to the exhaustive intro (+/- 2 minutes)
- Just ask, "OK, so since I know Google will NEVER call me, how much is this supposed to cost me?"
