Just received a call from this number----JUST SAYS OUT OF AREA.   I picked it up and it was regarding lowering credit card rates.  I punched 1 and a foreign lady came on the phone saying they coud lower my credit card rates.  I ask her which credit cards and she did not have an answer.  I ask her who she was calling and she said the person in the house that has the credit cards.   I told her----there are NO credit cards in this house and she said OH,  this is an automatic dialer.   I TOLD HER TO TAKE THIS NUMBER OUT-----I WAS TAPING HER THE WHOLE TIME.

I just called them back and got a recording that said "thank you for calling back. If you do not want to receive further calls to hear about our special promotion and would like to be put on the do not call list, please press 1."  I pressed 1 so hopefully they won't call back.

When you do that, they will know that your number is active.  You will get more calls from them and similar telemarketers in the future.  You should unplug your phone immediately (I hope it works).

Recorded message to reduce the credit card rate: "This is Rachel.....".  I tried many things to stop them but they change their numbers frequently and I can't.  I believe we need the government's action.
