Posted a craigslist ad. Got a text from a guy who said he was deaf. Here's the last text. "I want you to know the mover's fund will be included in the check,deduct your own money and send rest funds to my mover after the check as been verified.You can as well deduct a token of $50 from the movers funds for your inconvenience.Do let me know if i sending the excess fund is okay by you..Thanks" watch out for this dicksmack.

Had a similar experience with the same number. Texted back saying I prefer cash, no response.

Same experience here.  Did receive an "official check"....guessing it won't cash.

BEWARE! My experience was almost exactly the same as Paul's. I posted a tonneau cover on CL, the "deaf" person wrote and offered to send a cashiers check and once it cleared would have movers pick it up. I repeated asked if he/ she wanted to see it and what year truck it was intended for. I stopped getting responses and did a little research. Thank God I did. So thankful this thread is available.
