Same fraud call as 855-539-4917 just yesterday; I'm wondering if I'm now on some Senior number list having recently turned 65, and their hoping I'm now stupid senile (my elderly father would have definitely fallen for this stuff)
"This call is officially a final notice from IRS; Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number, 405-588-4521."
I know from real IRS issues that they NEVER call like this, but always use regular mail to initiate contact. In fact, trying to call a real agent or office becomes an hours-long-on-hold affair, and you never ever give out credit card numbers etc.
Warn your parents, naive friends, everybody about these calls as the very least they may get is enough info to hijack tax info, refund checks, etc. in addition to scamming an immediate payment that will be lost forever.
