if someone wants to sell you something, say oh yes wait just a minute, put them on speaker phone and don't say anything else,  they won't wait long and you will hear the hang up..

They call all the time I told a woman named Jane that I was not interested and not to call me again and she said sorry two hour later they called again its been going on for at least a month now ..... pissing me off ...

Operations like the one you have described are not about to honor such requests. You might want to look into the option of a call blocker. Preferably one that allows you to block partial numbers.
