This appears to be legit. I called back and the woman read off information from an application I recognized that I had completed with a job website, either career network or snagajob, can't remember off hand.
The only 'sales pitch' during the conversation was asking if I wanted information about continuing my education - obviously they have some sort of referral system for a school (or schools) as part of their business model. She wasn't obnoxious about it, and I said politely, "Not at this time." and she left it at that.
She then asked if the information she had read to me was accurate. I said it was. She asked if I was a US citizen, blah, blah, blah. When we were done she told me the hiring manager of the company in question would contact me directly if they wanted to go further with my application.
It might be a scam, but the only info they got from me they didn't already have from my application, was my phone's ability to recive text messages, so at this point I doubt it. If anything 'hinky' develops I'll update this post, but for now, I think it might be legit.
