Caller texted me in response to a classified ad I was running online. Gave the Name Brenda Watson (which was false). Wanted to buy the item I was selling, and would Fed-ex the money and have someone else pick up the item. Item costs $600. Cashiers Check arrived 4 days later via Priority Mail and was for the amount of $1,999. 00. Caller phone # is in Oklahoma. Envelope mailed from N.Y. and Cashiers Check from a bank in FL. Total scam. What these folks do, is have you cash the check, take your share and mail the rest to them. The check will bounce and you will be responsible to pay the bank back.. DON'T fall into this SCAM!

Since it was mailed, take the check & envelope to the post office & forward it to the postal inspectors.
