SCAMMER! Received a text to my business cell phone. They enquired about my services. I responded that I do the type of work that they required and to please call me to discuss. I then received a long reply about how they are in intensive care preparing for lung surgery to remove cancer???? WTF? Who thinks about minor care repairs when your in the ICU? SCAM

Same here. I suspected something, but went along just to see where it went. Claimed they had just bought a home in the area which needed drywall work. Same deal with the lung cancer. I asked where they got my info and she said that it was from a colleague of her husband who died of brain cancer and her husband had been killed in a car accident 2 months ago. My, my. Such a lot of tragedy. This person even gave me the address of the home, which turns out is an active listing for sale. I think they got tired of my many questions and quit responding to me.
I believe this is one of those scams where they would give you an advance payment, which would be bogus, and then ask you to send some of it back. These are usually done with phony cashiers checks, but these people are doing it with credit cards, as that was the first thing they asked about, if I take payment by credit card.

We are a juice company that received an order from this number. same run around as the others. Explained that they were hearing impaired and asked to speak over texts. Attempted to order over 800 dollars worth of product. Thanks for the heads up.

SCAMMMER!!!  I received a message this morning asking if we could accommodate pick up orders and cc transactions from our cafe.  The text came through on my personal cell phone, which is not unusual.  The "lady (Mrs. Glenda Thomas)" said that she was hearing impaired and needed to communicate via text due to her disability.  I was grateful for the business and wanted to accommodate the request.  The scenario became fishy as the communication went on.  The person over communicated the disability and even gave conflicting stories of what her ailment was- first hearing, second lung cancer. Both things we're not even relevant to our catering conversation.  The first red flag was when the "lady" said she would have a courier service pick up the food and deliver it to her mother's retirement party.  I insisted on delivering it since it was such a large order.  She kept insisting on a courier and then asked me if I could help her pay the courier because they did not accept cc.  I don't know of many businesses that can't process cc payments, so I immediately googled the phone number!  Something seemed odd! Sure enough I found some comments here supporting what I was suspicious of.

The basic premise of the scam is to put in an order for catering services for a future date.  The scammer insists on paying immediately via cc with a very generous tip.  At the end, she (it) will ask for you to add the charge for the delivery service/courier to the cc charge and in return we pay the delivery service by moneygram.  Obviously, the cc info they were intending to use was stolen and the "delivery money" goes to them(scam money). Let me add that the extra amount requested for the courier/delivery was about $1000!?!?! Most people, I hope, at this point would understand that this is an absolute scam.  I just want everyone to be aware and have their flags up before you invest hours of your time communicating to this point.  Epic waste of my time today.  May this idiot rot in hell!

I'm so glad I googled the phone number at my first gut reaction.  By the time this person came through with this crazy request I was ready.  I responded SCAM!!! and haven't heard anything back.

One more point...This scammer had my personal cell phone, knew our menu and even conveyed information that led me to believe they we're referred by a friend of family.  I feel violated and disgusted!
