Well they call me to collect a payday loan I took out in 2006 and never paid back.

Same here and they called my grandma, mom, and friends and said that it was ref a legal matter with check fraud against me.

What they do is illegal. They harrass family and friends. And payday loan interest is ILLEGAL and they know it.  Tell them to send you proof that you owe the debt. They never will. Then just let the statute of limitations run out.

They called me at work using my direct # which I have only had for a few months.  I answered with the name of my company and my first name (which is how I answer all calls @ work) and they said "Good morning, Ms. (Last Name Here).  She apologized for calling me at work but said that was the only # she had for me.  I said that unfortunately I am unable to accept personal calls @ work & they would have to call me @ home.  I gave them my home phone #, which they called but did not leave a message - the same phone # showed on that call as well.  I am concerned because I have never given out this # for anything personal (I never give out my work # except to business contacts) & I always, always list my home phone # on everything I fill out.
