Apparently I am on a netowrk of scam calls. SO sad. Just people looking for the elderly to rip off their credit card.  Not a legitimate organization. They sell your numbers to other criminals so be prepared for more scam calls.

Just report to the Georgia State Attorney General's Office of Consumer Affairs and local law enforcement if calls continue. Notify representative as well. You can also recommend that they discontinue calls, however, your number is 100% guaranteed to be sold to other scammers looking for credit cards.

Telephone scams are on the rise. Warn and report

Hey Tom H., F.Y.I. Fraternal Order Of Police Is a charitable orgainzation, besides the other functions that they perform. Charities, collection agencies, & polictical pollisters are exempt from yore, "Do Not Call List'. Health organizations, such as the Heart assoc, the Kidney Foundation, etc. are all exempt. Tyhat's the way the US Congress wrote & passed the law. Later on, Twig

Fraternal Order of Police is "NOT" a Charity, it is a labor union but some lodges do run charities on the side, make sure you know which one you are talking too if you want a deduction.

Let's see what Charity Navigator says:
"We don't evaluate Fraternal Order of Police.
Why not? We only evaluate organizations granted tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and file a Form 990. 501(c)(3) organizations are considered public charities and all donations to them are tax-exempt."

It has been my personal experience that "charities" which cold call people soliciting money are generally "charities" which  are about lining someone's pocket.  Police and Fire "Charities" are often in this category.

If you wish to give to such a group, do your homework, and make sure the money is going where you intend.
