Caller started with a speech about collecting funds for law enforcement officers, their widows, bulletproof vests etc. When it sounded like he said something about New Jersey and a SOP (whatever that was) he did not even pause when I tried to ask a question as he went on and on with his well rehearsed script so I just hung up on him when he tried to get a pledge..

caller ID said "Unknown Name" - long pause after I said "Hello" then clicked to a man's voice saying "Hello? Hello?" I hung up.

Just got a call from this number.  No response when I answered the phone.

Scammers stealing money in the name of the fraternal order of police -- pitch makes it sound like they give $$ to FOP but when I asked how much does he keep & how much do police get -- and he said 10% goes to police.  So if I give $50, the police get 5 and he gets 45 --- no thanks.  If I have time, I sometimes string these guys along, act interested, ask questions & see how long I can keep on line -- that way he's wasting his time & not preying on / scamming others.  There ought to be a law against these thieves....
