I received a significant number of sms charges on my last bill from someItalian number (393358822500). I also don't know anything about the number or source of it.
My problem is that although my bill suggests that I had received these messages, they never actually appeared on my phone.
It would be one thing if I had received messages and was disputing whether I read them or not but in this case, I never actually recieved them and TMobile is charging me for them.
Some other bogus numbers I am having the same problem with are from Taiwan (88693600160 and 88693600161). I have literally dozens of supposed messages from these other 2 numbers per my bill but I never received anything on my phone.
I called TMobile and they informed me that all the messaging charges are 'valid' because their system indicates I received them. "That's ridiculous", I said because I know I did not recieve them.
I disputed this with the customer service rep and asked to speak to a manager... after a short hold, I was told one would get back to me in 2 to 48 (that's right... 48!) hours. 48 hours is 6 shifts of their call center!
Something with their system is making an error and they are trying to dodge me in acknowledging it.
Do they block known spam #'s? If so, they are possibly blocking them from getting to me but charging me anyway.
Anyone else have similar experience?

i have experienced the same problem on ALL 3 of the lines of our family plan to include our cell number that was blocked from receiving any text messages!  i was finally able to have all the charges removed from my statement after talking with someone on my third call to customer service.  this was before I googled the phone number that was creating the problem for me.  If you have the Family Allowances service you can block this number and it should not show up any further.  There is another number that is creating the same problem-- it is 206-313-0023.  Look on your statement to see if you have problems with that number as well.  Interesting fact:  when I had unlimited text messaging service this number never showed up.  However, when I discontinued this service the problem began.  GP's 21-Oct-O8 comment from T-Mobile was the same explanation I received, but I DID NOT receive any text message on the date and time they claimed I did as stated on my account that I view daily on the website.   This loyal t-mobile customer is about to move on...

I was given the same run around. I am not a text message user, at least not in general. The most text messages I have ever used - sent and received is 24 in the past 12 months. So far, in October, I have charges for 52 text messages. I have received approximately 8 messges and sent 4, as they are still on my phone. T-mobile told me that all 52 texts are valid and they show that I received them or sent them from my phone. My only options they said are to completely block ALL messages, call the people sending me messages and tell them to stop, or purchase their message package. I do not want to block ALL messages, because I use messaging on rare urgent occasions. I can't "call" the people because I am not RECEIVING the message on my phone, and my bill only states T-mobile routing numbers - 206-313-0023 or 404-455-0007 (not the origin of the message). I am not paying $4.95 for texting when my per usage fee has never been more than $2.60. When I called they basically said I was delusional and that it is impossible to be charged for a text that was not received or sent from my phone. I am filing with the BBB and contacting the Washington State Attorney Generals office. I smell class action on this one. It seemd to be affecting the Seattle area specifically beginning in October 2008. Oh - and I should contact that KING-5 guy "JESSE". T-mobile was my last hope as a great carrier. They were until today.

I just got off the phone with t-mobile. They basically told me that I had twelve txt messages and that I was charged for all of them - a total of $3.21. The first customer service woman was condenscending and rude (which is something I am finding from the t-mobile personnel recently) and told me that she could not take the charges off. Nor would she tell me what the number was that was sending the txts...it was 'against the law' to do so.

I called back after going through my cell phone and finding zero, zip, nada messages on it. The second customer service agent was a lot nicer and removed the charges.

I found out on line what the number was that had 'sent' the messages and came to this forum.

Aggravation!!! I do hope someone contacts Jesse and asks for his help.

I have taken the precaution of blocking all txts, all emails and all i.m's.

T-mobile gave me a credit for 50 text messages, and I have not received any more since my complaint. I saw on one website that the message charges were connected with calling voice mail. I then looked at my bill and more than 30 out of the 52 test message charges were at the same exact time that I dialed my voice mail. It looks like the glitch is charging a text for accessing voice mail. I hope it is fixed. I ended up blocking all messages and hopefully in a month or so, it will be fixed. All I can say for T-mobile customer service is that it f%@$(ng sucks bunghole. I have found that with all providers of cell service, because they know our hands are tied. They kept telling me sorry that "I believe the texts are not mine" or "that I feel I did not receive the messages". Lastly - my mom who is 64 and has blocked sms because she does not even know how to open or send one had 7 charges on her phone. Good luck to all!

I'm actually an out-sourced employee for T-Mobile Customer Service and I'm amazed how many people are being affected by this. I was just reading some information about this, and I found it odd that there would be two specific numbers that were causing duplicate messages. As the current article in my knowledge base is titled, "Duplicate SMSs to the Numbers 206-313-0026 and 404-455-0007." So I Googled the numbers to try and find out more information about them which led me here.

As a(n indirect) T-Mobile employee, I understand I'm somewhat the enemy here, but I'm also a fellow cell phone owner and I imagine I'd be pretty heated if these charges were appearing on my bill (I use a different provider). I'm posting here to hopefully let everyone know that the issue has been resolved and T-Mobile is in the process of correcting the bills of those affected. Just call us and we'll get you taken care of...

"There is an issue where some customers may be charged for duplicate SMSs when SMSs were displayed in usage prior to October 25.

How to identify: Customers would have SMSs on or before October 24 to the following numbers:

206-313-0026

404-455-0007

Note: All SMSs to these two numbers prior to October 25 are considered to be duplicates."

Again, I get it that I'm working from behind enemy lines here, but I just wanted to wish everyone the best of luck in getting this resolved as quickly and painlessly (cheaply ;)) as possible.

-Michael

P.S. Just in case anyone doesn't know, "SMS" is synonymous with "text message."
