Have received a couple calls from this number. Person immediately begins with an inquiry asking to confirm my address. But I've never lived at the address he "has on file" for me. Presumably, he wanted me to correct him with my correct address, which I did not offer up. He then proceeds to state that he needs to "verify" my personal information before he can tell me the purpose of his call. Claims to be with Nationwide Credit. On one occasion, asked to "verify" soc security. Sounded very suspicious, so I hung up on him after he refused to tell me the purpose of his call despite multiple requests. After second similar call, I googled Nationwide Credit and "404" area code. I found posts from other people stating that they have received calls from various (similar) 404 area code numbers from people claiming to be with Nationwide Credit. Per those posts, the caller claimed that you owe some amount of money and need to send it via moneygram immediately. (My caller never got that far due to my demands for him to explain his purpose.) I called the number back, spoke to someone claiming to be named James Mirpager, and called him out on the scam. He then played dumb and pretended to have no knowledge of "Nationwide Credit" ever calling me, and said that the matter must have been cleared up and my number must have been removed from the system.
