They called me yesterday 4/13/2013 . Caller ID said Atlanta, Ga.(1-404-419-7791) I stupidly picked up the call. I did think at that moment it was someone that our family may know. We do have a friend in GA. I digress, please forgive me. The person on the other end took a few long seconds to reply to my "hello". He said he was a representative for "Cox" cable and had a
"PROMO" deal involving sending me a so called "better" modem for faster internet service. The only thing I needed to do was give them my address. I'm not sure of any other info he would have wanted or needed. I did not allow him to continue because I had a few questions for  him. I called Cox to inform them of this "scam".  The Sales Dept. did a little digging for me as well. We concluded that "ALLIED GLOBAL" in this instance is not legit. Please be careful...Thanks for your time and listening.

Thanks for the 'heads up' Sheryl.  I, fortunately, did not pick up this call but I do get them frequently from here.  Makes you wonder how they get their listing of Cox customers though.  Makes one suspicious.

These people keep calling me daily.  When we answer, no one is there.

I got two calls yesterday. The first one I didn't get and it went to voice mail. The second time the guy said he was from Cox and wanted to send me a free modem upgrade for my computer. He wanted me to verify my age and address.  I would not volunteer any info. But he had my address, and name. I am unlisted so I figured if he had my address and name he must be somewhat legit.  He said I just needed to return the modem I have in a box they would provide for me.    After I got off the phone I noticed that I actually have two modems for two computers and tried to call him back.  The message said this is Cox cable to call back between the hours of 9am-9pm.  The ph# 404-419-7791.  I am on the west coast and he called around 6:40pm which would be about 9:40pm in Georgia.  So I tried to reach that number today to let them know I needed two. I got the same recording about the time etc.  but it was now 10:15am PST.  So I called my local Cox Cable and they said they have no such promotions going on and that they would investigate it and the Cox cable guy let me know about this website.  Letting me know that it sounds like a scam. So Beware!  Cox said they would call me back and let me know what they find out about this issue.  I will post the results.

This number calls more than once a day. I finally answered it. The caller asking for a donation for Cancer Prime of America. I was so mad that they hanged up. I called them back but nobody answered. I called them back and still nobody answered. This is so annoying! Beware of 404-419-7791 GA called ID.
