Guy referred to me by my first name, "Herman, are you there?" I didn't answer the call. Caller ID listed as 'I'.

this guy has been calling for weeks now! All hours of the day and night....as early as 7:30am, and as late as 10:00pm. he listens to the voice mail message, then asks , "Is Jason there? Hello? ARE YOU THERE?" This is so annoying, and the caller ID just shows up as "I"... I will be filing a complaint with the national registry also.

Why? He's calling because he wants a live voice. Get on his nerves by thwarting his chance to leave you messages. As long as they're getting something, expect them to keep calling. Filing a complaint probably won't do much good. The more times they get a ringing phone, the quicker they'll be to give up on wasting time calling you.

Called around 0830; answered with full intention of telling the caller to stop calling. Listened to the spiel for a while, then decided it wasn't legitimate so ended the call. Claimed to be with the Atlanta Firefighters. I'm all for supporting our local heroes but I'm too far away from Atlanta and they kept pushing for a donation.

Do u really believe this was Atlanta Firefighters?  Even if it was, never donate to phone solicitors.  The solicitor gets most of the money and the charity can receive as little as 20%.  Happened to me w a Christian orgn.  Ask the solicitator exactly how much they get and what the charity gets.  They usually won't  tell you. Firefighters and Sheriff/Law Enforcement Officers don't  need our money to survive!  Their families are well covered w insurance, if killed in line of duty.
Currently, unless changed, family of military killed in line of duty receive $600,000. My church was taking up an offering for such a family, not knowing  they received "anything"!
Don't  let people scam you thru phone or mail.
Give, but know where all of it is going, but never give by phone or unknown P.O. Box nrs!! I tell every caller:  " I don't  respond to ANY phone solicitations "....
