a few hours ago I received a call from this number(404-263-0044) claiming I had won $500,000.00 from a clearing house contest.  they asked if anyone had contacted me about this before they called, of course  no one had.  then they ask if my address was ***** and I told them no that was an old address. Then, they ask for my new address to deliever the money by special carrier between 9am-11am on Friday the 22nd of February. I turn the table and ask them for their address and telephone number to call them back and they hung up the phone when I refuse to give them my address.  THIS IS A SCAM AND NO ONE NEED TO GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR INFORMATION!!!! BE ALERT AND CAREFUL OF THESE TYPE OF CALLS!!  I still have no idea who they are!  Do anyone know who this number is?

These people need to be stopped!!!

We received a phone call on Tuesday, 2/19/2013. Much the same experience, but I listened to prove to my husband that it was a scam. I asked what they would need from us and he said there would be taxes due and they would take care of it, was going to transfer me until I told him to just send the check and we'd take care of our own taxes. No surprise, he then hung up. Please don't fall for this as this type of scam has ruined the financial security of many people. My dear husband fell for another and, without my knowing, send thousands. Now we are on every list, I fear.

My elderly mother received a call on Friday, 02/22/13 from a gentleman identifying himself as Stan from a law firm in Atlanta, representing Publisher's Clearing House.  He confirmed my mother's name and address.  He asked my mother if she had received a call before.  She told him no.  He continued with his lie by telling my mother that she was the 2nd place winner in the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes and would be receiving a check in the amount of $500,000.  My mother asked for his full name and phone number.  He hung up.  The phone number was on the caller ID and she called the number only to receive a constant busy signal.  Today, Tuesday, 02/26/13, she received a call again.  Again, the caller identified himself from a law firm in Atlanta, representing PCH.  Again, he asked if she had received a call like this before.  She told him yes.  He hung up.  My poor mother said the first caller sounded legitimate and like a very nice man.  :( I asked her if she had given them anything other than her name and address and she said no. Thank goodness.
