Aug 14, 2008
These people called my house on August 7, 2008, my husband told them they had the wrong person. They did not listen. They called again on August 8, 2008 and I answered the phone. The lady on the phone was surprised that I had not been arrested. And I ask her why I should have been served with papers and arrested, she said that I had defauled on a contract of $17,500.00 for a Mitsubishi, and I told her that I did not and have never had a Mitsubishi. She called out a SS Number and I told her that was not me. She called out a birthdate that was not mine. Then she said asked me if I knew a person (who was my father), they had him as my next of kin, instead of my husband. They had my father's old phone number, my father died in 2001. Then she said that they had gotten my address and phone number for the Clerk of Courts office in the county that I live in. I told her that they had the wrong person. She said that they would take my name off the information, and when they found out who was using my name, they would let me know so that I could report the fraud. When my husband got home he called long distance, because we did not have a toll free number with which to call them. And they said that someone must have typed "W" instead of "B" as the first letter of the person's last name. I'm sorry but those letter are not even on the same line as each other and you don't use the same finger to type them either.
We are going to take the information that we have to the TV Station in our city and the newspaper. And my husband is going to go to County Counsel to see why a County office would give out information, in this age of identity theft.
