similar story... calls from 3232500528 and 4042016957... caller id reports both as "AT&T". after weeks of the 323 # calling at least 3 times a day, I resorted to call blocker ( not sure why I waited so long )... all went fine, then the 404 number started up... 3 calls while I was gone today so popped it into call blocker. The one time I answered a call from the 323 number it did sound like a call center... kinda... noisy, but also sounded like a domestic going on in the background, slamming or pounding noise, persons yelling in the background... definitely not a nice experience, I terminated the call and then called ATT # LISTED IN THE PHONE BOOK and reported the incident. No good calling the # back that called me... really, call the skum back that called you ?? ... Very professional CSR on the phone, to whom I explained if this was an actual ATT call center, they were doing a very poor job of representing ATT. She said she would escalate my concern, but from information she had the 323 number was not associated with ATT period. Thing that tipped me off on the call I did answer is... I have a passcode lock on my account, if I call ATT that is the first bit of information they request after gathering their normal initial information when I want to make any changes or have questions about my bill. Never was a passcode requested. Just rite into I need some information if you want to switch to Uverse internet and the blurb how great it is and will save me money and here is the deal. I think it is a very good piece of security and best of all, the security lock costs no money. FOR THE RECORD... THE REAL ATT HAS NOT ASK ME FOR MY SOC # EVER ... OTHER THAN 35 YEARS AGO WHEN I GOT THEIR SERVICE AT INITIAL START UP WHEN I MOVED HERE, and I'd never give a unsolicited caller my SOC regardless... Just be careful... the sneaky freaks are getting a bit more sneaky about collecting any information they can
