throwing around the words Google business listing, the sneaky company calls me about once every two weeks starting with an automated recording. It sounds urgent and questionably official. Press 1 to talk to a local specialist - a play on the official Google local.

They used to call from an out of state number. And now they're using the tactic of buying local numbers. They make it appear as if they're calling from Google. They are not.

once I press 1 and talk a human, I ask if they're officially from Google. the telemarketer side steps my question and rudely hangs up. Each and every time they hang up.

don't fall for this poor business practice.
