This guy was great! Said my address was under arrest - meaning EVERYONE at my address would be arrested within the next hour if I didn't make payment of $23,000.50 (what was the extra 50 cents for??) immediately over the phone. Told him I was a college student who never even had a job - said it didn't matter. That I had to pay "..my share of taxes, OR ELSE". I kept laughing at him and her got even angrier. Sad that there are still people who fall for this crap.

It is a scam.

The IRS does not initiate contact via a phone call, they first send postal letters.
The IRS does not threaten arrest.
The IRS does not demand immediate payment over the phone.
The IRS does not ask for Credit card, Debit card, or prepaid money card information, at all.

It is a scam ran by offshore criminals attempting to trick you into sending them money.

Total crap claims to be the IRS

Just got that same call "Brian somebody" w/British accent, now my address is under investigation! This was much more threatening in nature BUT then the recording just stopped mid sentence!!!! Be careful out there, an elderly friend of mine was all set to meet someone from the IRS in the WalMart parking lot w/cash. She called me in tears to ask me to go with her as she was afraid to go alone, Thank goodness she called me first. Shame.

Tried that website you were nice enough to share but it says that page is not available. Could you check & make sure you copied it correctly, I would like to file a complaint. I report all bogus #'s to Nat'l Do Not Call Registry but apparently not doing any good :(
