Beware, this sounds like the "serviceman on leave" scam.

I got a call from a woman that sounded to be Indian from phone number 402-318-7194.  She said she wanted to buy my 06 Infiniti G35, which is listed on Autotrader, with cash for her husband, and that it was a birthday present for him and he didn't know about it.  She said she knew what the car was and already knew she would love it.  She asked what my email address was so that we could correspond through email.  Later, her husband, Lt. James Cresswell, emailed me about the car and asked for my ad ID #.  I called Autotrader and they said it sounds like a scam.  Beware!!!

I got the same routine from "Lt. James Cresswell" this morning.  He want to buy my 09 Honda Accord for cash.  Sounds like he's buying up a lot of cars!  He also wanted my ad id, which I did not give out.   Definitley a scam.  I think he is trying to hijack ads to sell cars he doesn't own.

I just received the same email:

Hi,
This is Lt. James Cresswell, a friend of mine contacted you about your car that you have for sale on autotrader. I have cash ready for it, i just need know when you are available for an inspection. Let me know.


What a scam!  Can this be reported to anyone?

James has been busy....and btw....has another phone number as well ..   408-786-5773    so beware....I did the same thing and called Autotrader...he was calling on my truck......
