Why would an out of state walgreens call me

I missed it but they didn't leave voice mail. I always find that suspicious

Walgreens Refill Reminder Calls.  This is a centralized and automated service from Walgreens, so the calls won't come from your local Walgreens.  This service has been in place for about 4 months now.  The calls were coming from 800-289-1179, but Walgreens was unalbe to tie a caller ID to that number.  They switched to the new number so that customers with caller ID would now see "WALGREENS REFIL".  The service will not leave a message on the first attempt, but upon a second missed attemp they will leave you the 800 number to call back if you like.

Great service for ordering your prescriptions that are about to run out.

After reading comments on 800 Notes, I'm note sure this really is Walgreens.  They want people to refill prescriptions they never had and want their Social Security numbers.
