Same problem here

so what can we do about this....? I am afraid this is someone trying to tell when we are home, but how crazy, who answers there house phone anymore, if you don't recognize the #? I may call the local police department  and report it...better than nothing, or the same?

Keep getting calls from this #. When I answer it I can hear noise in the background, but no one answers.
I'm going to just ignor that # when it comes up on caller ID & report it to my local police!

Same here...if it is someone checking to see if someone is home or not,  I feel bad for the person that tries to come into this house with my pit bull here.

ok to people who dont know this , telemarketing companies now have machines that call you and wait to see if you will answere if you dont it calls back till you do and when you do it will call back till you answere it 3 times , this now tells the main computer of a telemarketing agency what times you are home , it then adds your # to the list of #s to call at what ever time it finds that you are home , if someone calls and you answere and they say nothing , start pushing random #s quickly on your phone , this then tells the machine that called you that it has reached a fax machine and then automaticaly (yup you got it) removes your # from the list. another thing i like doing is when a telemarketer calls , simply tell them to hold on a sec for what ever reason and set the phone down till it start beeping , rather than the telemarketer wasting your time , you just wasted his.
