Scam  -  Received a recording from this number that I would be sued by the IRS.  The recoding asked us to call back - NOT!!!  This scam artist should be put in prison!

Received a recording saying this was the final notice from the IRS. They had tried to contact us 7 times. THIS IS A SCAM. IRS will only contact you thru the US mail.

Watch these people, they try to scare you into thinking you owe the IRS money and you are being sued and will be arrested with in 45 minutes if you do not give them the money or info they want. Sounds like a call from India,  I checked with police and they confirmed this is a scam. If you get a call from them, report them. He goes by the name of Steve Benz. The IRS does not call, they send notifications in the mail.

I've gotten a number of these calls from different numbers, but it's the same scam. Don't EVER call them back. Law enforcement needs to nail these idiots.  The IRS does not make calls, either live or automated. I got two calls today - one from the Rhode Island area code and another from DC (202). These are spoofed calls probably from overseas.

My daughter who has autism answered the phone and had a melt down. It took me and her grand parents 3 hours to calm her down. She head banged and was hysterical thinking she was going to be sued by the IRS and going to jail. Another way to exploit the most vulnerable. Another way to victimize people.
