A man claiming to be John Bayer an attorney in San Francisco called from a blocked # stating he is from a law firm which does not exist.
I contacted the state bar who looked this supposed names up. The closest they could come was an attorney with that name who was inactive and deceased. Due to the fact this is a FELONY, State Bar is now investigating the matter.
Whoever this was had the wrong phone #, our phone #. They asked for a name (as a collection agency we cannot reveal by law this persons name without written consent). The caller specifically stated on our vm (we kept the message), if we "WERE NOT this persons name" we needed to contact them to discuss this persons supposed actions with another company is the best way we can describe it without releasing details. The message made absolutely no sense.
If you get a call from this # report it to your local authorities immediately would be my suggestion.
