Heavily accented individual with a fuzzy connection stating I had won a choice of two vacation packages. I had to ask several times for the name of the company as I could not understand him. Sounded like I was on speakerphone and he was slightly muffled. Finally had him spell it. Welcome Center of Ormond Beach, Florida. How generic. He wanted to know why I did't sound excited. I told him I wasn't convinced this was real since I had no recollection of signing up for anything. He assured me it was a while go and they were just getting to me. I don't sign up for these things, so the explanation was doubtful. He asked if his superior could call me with the details. I agreed even though it seemed odd to do it that way. Called the number back and got message the number was disconnected, changed, or no longer in service. Then the superior called me stating his name was "Bruce". He sounded American at first but as he continued talking it was clear he just had a really good command of the accent as his true one kept popping through. I asked for name of company. He gave me same name, Welcome Center. I asked for address. This is when his real accent came out and it was hard to understand exactly what he said but it was something along the lines of I would get it once I booked my flight with Delta Airlines. I then told him I had researched the number that originally called and what I discovered. I told him that I believed it was a scam, told him to have a nice day, and hung up. The number he called from is 386-984-4578.
