Just received call from 385-229-3205 Caller ID FEDERAL FINANCI. Probably was robo dialed. When I picked up the call attempted to connect me with someone. It failed and hung up on me.  We are in CA and on the Do Not Call Registry. It seems useless because if I ever mention it to some telemarketer they hang up. My new tact is to keep talking to the caller for as long as possible anout nothing until they go past their time allowed to make a sale, steal my information or whatever.

Same here.  Caller ID just says Salt Lake Ci UT

Asked to speak to wife using her maiden name. Refused to talk to me until finally, and very defensively, saying he was calling from some institute doing research. I told him to remove the number and that's when I heard the click. Nevermind all the background chatter I heard the whole time from the other telemarketers in the boiler room.
