Called 'do not call' listed cell number stating is my "credit card company' (no company specified) offering to reduce credit card interest - last chance!

WARNING--BEWARE!! These callers are   B I G   credit card criminals, known as the card service scammers! Under NO circumstances, give these lowlifes your credit card number, or you will regret it forever!

The FCC's "do not call" program is just another example of government waste and bs.  They only prosecute perhaps 2 dozen offenders each year.  Look at all the numbers posted on sites like this one, sites who have a huge collection of scammers and offenders.  FCC is aware of all these numbers, but can't figure out how to inactivate these numbers. FCC, you are as much the problem as the scammers, ES&D!

The FCCs does not maintain or operate the "Do Not Call"  Registry.  The FTC does.   It is a section within the "FTC".    It is just a LIST!  It does not screen, monitor,  or block any callers from calling anyone.  It is just a LIST!.  A list maintained by the FTC and is required to be purchased monthly by those "Registered with the FTC"  legitimate businesses,   that we know and do business with every day.  It is the honor system and is in fact Honored by those Registered businesses.   It is not a law enforcement agency or tool.  Scammers and scofflaws do not honor ANY law nor do they have direct purchase access to the DNC list.  You are correct that the FCCs,  FBI,  and other law enforcement agencies are responsible for these callers.   After all they are criminals.   The DNC is nothing more than a list of people that Registered American Businesses purchase,  and do in fact honor.
