We got a call at our business yesterday from this number ... it went to voicemail, and - believe it or not - the message was, "Meow." That's right, a (human) cat's meow.
This type of behavior is what gives the legit telemarketing industry a black eye.
And if you want to not receive ANY solicitations - by mail, by phone, or whatever - please contact The Direct Marketing Association. They are the umbrella professional organization and maintain, and distribute, a Do Not Contact list. Honored by all LEGIT marketing companies.
However ... remember that if you do that, you will NOT receive your catalogs, offers for bank cards, notices from local businesses, or any other mail like that (within six months, because it DOES take that long to update all the lists).
Something like 55% of people who go on the Do Not Contact list go back and request to be put back on within a year. "Junk mail" actually makes up a very successful (more than three billion $$) portion of the economy, and keeps you in touch with your business community.
But that does NOT excuse nutso companies like this one, which (I bet) is NOT a member of The DMA.
