Caller ID: Long Beach WA; no message=scammer

They have called me twice on my cell phone and did not leave a message.  There is no one on the line when you answer.  Definitely some type of scammer.

this number called a few minutes ago and hung up when I answered.  I looked it up and found several comments about scamming so I called it and a recording says "Thanks for calling, the survey you have been called for has now ended.  If you would like to be removed from our list for future calls, press 9"  I have learned from past experience that you don't ever want to press whatever number they tell you to to get removed because all they do is add you to more calling lists and the harrassment and spam calls and hangups continue, only they get worse as they give your number away to more places.

The calls come in several times a day from this number, no one is there if you answer. It seems that within the last 2 months I've gotten on some list and I'm PELTED by scammers; vacation 'wins'; politicians begging for my vote; calls that have no one on the other end, it's become a serious problem for me. I probably get 20 calls a day and I want it all to stop. I'm on the Do Not Call list, but that does not offer any real time protection! What am I supposed to do, keep a log, and then what?

Recorded female voice letting me know that I had won a trip to the Bahamas, disconnected at that point.
