Yep.... me too all the way up here in Alaska... they call numerous times and this time I just simply said hello and got an answer.  The guy had no idea what I was talking about and asked me if I had a security system for my home.  First of all... none of his business and told him to stop calling me all hours of the day and hanging up.  Makes absolute no sense to me.  Sorry everyone else is getting these same phone calls.  Trying to take the next step if possible.

I am on the Do Not Call list - so do not understand how the calls are getting through.

NEW A CO left a recorded message about lowering electric rates via Obama Money. You may qualify for a reduction in your electricity costs. Press 1 to claim your government (money) reduction to lower your electric rates. Heaven knows we'll need it seeing as Obama wants to necessarily skyrocket our rates. At the start of the recording it sounded like APP HEAP, Y HEAP and PIP. Sounds more like a bottom feeder scam.

The Do Not Call List worked for a few years after it's inception but has been essentially useless since. Law abiding companies that comply to the DNC list may not be calling anymore but the law breakers and crooks who disregard laws and rules are the ones that keep calling. They are using technology to falsify data coming in to your caller id making it virtually impossible to trace. The government needs tougher legislation as well as better technology to keep up with these crooks. Congress passes laws regarding these calls occasionally but seem to do little about enforcing them. Simply telling these scammers that they can't do something against the law isn't going to stop them from actually doing them.
