Hi, I received 2 calls from this number in the past 5 days.  I called back both times and was told I was being arrested by the IRS for back taxes of around 1100.00 between 2010 and 2015.  I could pay it right now or I would be picked up immediately and be fined 35,000.  Both callers were of Indian descent and claimed to be from Washington.  I was also told the call was being recorded and I was not to talk while the charges were being discussed with me.  They both became very upset when I told them I knew they were scamming me.  The IRS sends a letter to the parties they investigate, not a threatening call to your cell phone.  These people need to be investigated, I'm positive they aren't operating above board. That I had Federal charges  from the IRS and needed to cal them back immediately in order to settle affairs. i didn't know that the IRS contacted people, 1. via cellphone, 2. via badly recorded computer generated message, and 3. not by official mail.....

You are 100% correct Michelle.  If you go online to irs.gov like I did after my calls, these scams are outlined in detail.  I also spoke with an IRS agent at 1-800-829-1040.  The woman there also assured me the IRS never will call and threaten jail time, fines, etc.  Everything they will communicate to a taxpayer is always done first via US mail.  They may follow up on that letter,but never call beforehand randomly on cell phones.  These people likely work out of a call center in another country, which probably explains the bad technology.  I hope this post will stop somebody from making a payment to this bogus scam.  Just hang up, this is not a legitimate call.

Beware off this IRS scam Google IRS phone scams more people have to report them. I got the same call saying final notice a law suit. I called back they acting like a officer off the IRS red flag with a bad accent he told I owe money since 2008 and I didn't pay I was going to jail,red flag , ask if I had a lawyer read me these fake charges gave a fake case number told if I hang up the police be at my door in19 minutes . I hung and reported was told it was a scam I just wasted there time I fell bad for older people always tell family or friends if get a call never pay some 1 on line to many scams going on.
