Wanted to "GIVE" me $1200 dollars worth of electronic security in exchange for putting their sign in my yard. The call was a recorded message, but somehow knew when I was talking. I said I wanted to be put on their DO NOT CALL list. 'She' said, "I'm sorry, I didn't understand".. So I said it again... I ended up saying it 4 times, then I hung up.

I called them back, politely asked I be removed and reminded them on on our state's no call list. Let's see if it works.

Tried that.  The calls continue.

Most annoyingly, there's usually not even the recorded pitch...just silence, and the line is held.

How about spending some of the money the GSA is blowing on parties on actually enforcing the do-not-call law?

Got the automated voice meant to sound like a real person.  The fake voice "Bev" told me that they wanted to give me free electronic equipment in return for putting a small security sign in my front yard.  When I purposely made my responses difficult to understand, was transferred to an actual person named "Rachelle," who told me that the company was called "security solutions," (although earlier the recording said "security call center" or "security home center") which she said was a franchise associated with Honeywell.  I call bs on that.  I tried to ask her more about the company, but she kept asking how many doors my house had.  When I told her, "at least 50," she hung up.

Just a warning here, which likely most of you have already thought about, but just in case -- don't EVER tell a stranger anything that indicates you might not already have a home security system. Don't tell them you're looking into one, can't afford one, live in a safe neighborhood, or anything else of that kind. All of my spam calls have increased, but the dramatic increase has been in these home security scams. I have told a couple that I am recording their information to be turned over the police in case there is a burglary... you'd be amazed how quickly some of them hang up.
