I got a text saying my debit card was deactivated. I just took care of that today. Pretty sure its a scam.

Got a text -" BEE C.U. ALERT: your card has been DEACTIVATED: please call us at 360-434-3921"
Don't have that card, It is a scam from what I can tell. People on the net are saying they also got this about a Wells Fargo card. They reported that wells fargo wants this reported to them so they can investigate the sender, I guess BECU would like to know, too.

My husband and I just received similar texts regarding our bank. Problem is, when you call back the number it gives you, an automated message asks you to type in your card number... sound a bit suspicious, doesn't it? Besides, a couple of months ago, my card really was compromised, and I got a phone call from my bank, not a text message.

I believe it is a scam, and will call neither the sender nor the suggested contact number.

7-14-2011  3:40pm CST  I too received a text with the same message with a different number to call back.
I called the number.  a recording stated that it was the credit union center and asked that I enter my credit card number.  I hung up.  I too believe it is a scam
