Got a recording on my answering machine stating that the IRS was filing a lawsuit against me for unpaid taxes.  Read about this scam so I called the company back.  They answered as IRS but it was a very foreign person with a thick accent whom I had a difficult time understanding.  I asked who it was and he said IRS.  I asked what country and he stated Junited States.  I proceeded to use a few choice words to tell them what I thought of their scam.  What's sad is that they might get a few senior citizens to fall for this and send them money. THE IRS DOES NOT TELEPHONE YOU AND LEAVE A MESSAGE. DON'T FALL FOR THIS SCAM!

I too am being sued by the IRS.

Why, because someone told you over the phone? It's a scam

I received a message on my answering machine that I was being sued and to call this number immediately.  I know this is a scam.
