Got a message wanting to purchase an item we were selling on gumtree, they wanted us to email them and give them our bank account details, same old story.

Had following message last night after advertising on gumtree

I'm interested in your car, what is the firm price and present condition?please email me back at( melissastacie at ymail.com )

hello i advertised my van on gumtree last night and i got a reply that i thought was genuine from melissastacie@ymail.com and they asked me for a final total that i would take for it and told me that they will use there paypal account to deposit the money into my bank account but me being on a pension and thinking it was real i gave them my bank details  but i should've checked here first and i also had another one asking the same thing they go by the name of ryangreg913@gmail.com asking for the same thing so i think i better contact the bank first thing tommorrow just incase they try and rob me hey

Just had the same message from the same supposed person. Goodluck with cancelling this transaction

Yeah exactly the same. I have kept up an email for a few days but the replies are ridiculous. Don't really know who to report it to. I have sent a ridiculous reply but the scammer probably won't understand it. They can't go anything with just your bank details. To make any transactions they would need two forms of ID but check with your bank first.
