I got a call on July 17 saying they could lower my interest rate.  I pressed 9 to talk to someone.  When I said that I was told they could lower my interest rate, they hung up.

I've received two calls from this number.  It's a recording offering me a lower interest rate on my credit card, and to push nine to speak to a representative.  So, I push nine, and someone comes on the line.  I open by saying, "I'm on the national do not call list--" and they immediately hang up.  I don't know what recourse there is for this.  There has to be some way to find out who they are so that they can be held responsible for violating the law and hanging up on people who are trying to tell them not to call them!

We've gotten several of these calls promising to lower interest rates.  As we have no debt, the calls are... curious.  We also are on the federal and state do not call lists.

When I press "9" as instructed so I can tell them where to shove it, no connection is made.

recorded message saying they are from my current credit card account (which one?) and there are no problems.  I hung up.
