Scammer sent me a cashier's check for double the amount of a purchase, usual stupid scam actiity... via text in the 347 area code

he contacted Mr saying that he will send me a certified check. I told him I don't have a bank account. he never text back

He texted me to buy a floor machine off craigslist for $2400. Says he will send a Certified check. We will check it our closely before releasing anything. I figure it's the normal Nigerian scam, but I want the check for wallpaper.

Turned out to be a scam.
He will send me a certified check for more than purchase price, and I am to pay the balance to the shipper company (sure!).
I said "no way" - no checks going out. He cancelled the deal. Surprise!
I'm sure the certified check is Monopoly money......

Contacted by text and said he would send a Certified check, check came and I was texted not to cash it but deposit and have my bank contact his bank after I called him...600 dollar item, check for 2800 bucks was a big clue to me...He could order the latest model from company for 1300 plus shipping and still save money.
