They left a pre-recorded  message on my answering machine to call this number - they did not leave their name. I called back and they verified my name - scary. They said they were the irs and that i owed them money. I told them this was a scam call and i would be reporting them to the police. I hung up and blocked this number.

Left recorded message on my phone.  Final notice or I would go to jail.  Claimed to be from IRS. IRS never calls first.  Sends many letters before any action is taken.

Had a call today. No message. Will block now. IRS calls are ALWAYS a scam.

It's a scam, folks. The Federal agency is the Internal Revenue SERVICE. This follows no known protocol. Called the number and it would not ring.

What's the point of scamming someone if that person can't reach you.
