We have gotten all sorts of odd calls in the 5 yrs we have this new "unlisted" phone number. The latest is from this New York, NY number. They do not leave a message. We stopped picking up the phone unless we know the caller. Debt Collectors looking for a Jennifer K..., who we do not know. In the beginning we told them Ms. K.... does not have this number and hung up. Calls continued. We gave up and just don't answer the phone. We noticed that since Christmas when we purchased a technology product the calls started up again. When we spoke to the company Rep (cause the product we purchased didn't work) they asked for our phone number. When my husband gave it to her, the rep said, oh Jennifer K...? This chick must really be a deadbeat...and lucky us, we have her number.
In any case, don't answer your phone if you do not know the number. If it is legit, the people will leave a real voice message. Other than that, don't bother trying to stop these calls....does no good. Once these scammers know they have reached a real person they continue to call. And don't waste your money on "unlisted phone numbers".....phone companies just recycle them. And yes, we are on ALL the Do Not Call Lists....again a waste of time.
